Course description
Learn the powerful role the world of print plays in understanding ourselves and the world. Literature enables adolescents and others to discern meaning in life and its experiences, to explore language and ideas, to be entertained and informed, and to dialogue with others about the written word. Emphasis is on history of the discipline, issues of adolescent development and young adult literature, literary genres, and instructional implications.
