Instructor Biography

Jennifer Young
Jennifer has taught the Nutrition course for PSU Independent Study since 1994.

She has over 20 years of experience working in the area of nutrition in public health and education. She has worked for the Multnomah County WIC program and as an Instructor in the Nursing Program at University of Portland.

Currently she works for the State Public Health Division as the Nutrition and Physical Activity Coordinator for the Office of Family Health and as a Preceptor for OHSU Dietetic Interns.

Jennifer earned her B.S. in Zoology at University of California, Davis, and her Masters of Public Health from Loma Linda University. She is also a Registered Dietitian.

Jennifer's interests center around making healthy food choices accessible and affordable for all populations and promoting nutrition and physical activity through policy and environmental change.
