Today's Web requires familiarity with more than just HTML and CSS.
Designers and producers need to be familiar with the other technologies that are driving today's web such as AJAX, Flash, SQL, XML, Web services, server side programming and database-driven Web sites.
This course will provide a survey of technologies that drive today's Web, introduce fundamental concepts in programming, and discuss how different technologies are used to build dynamic Web site. The course will also provide hands on experience with basic programming.
Students will learn how to complete common Web development tasks using JavaScript for basic and advanced interactive effects and server side programming for delivering e-mail, adding, editing and deleting data from a database, and generating dynamic Web site content.
