JavaScript has quickly become the programming language of front-end developers, and it's becoming more and more a requirement for Web designers. JavaScript lets you add interactivity to a web site, enhance a web page's user interface, and generally improve the presentation and functionality of any web site. In this course, you'll learn the basics of the JavaScript programming language, and explore the most popular JavaScript library--jQuery--so that you can quickly and relatively easily create impressive, interactive web sites. We'll concentrate on adding useful, real-world functionality such as interactive image galleries, form validation, dynamic visual effects, tabbed panels, accordions and other user interface elements, as well as explore AJAX technology.
What you will cover:
Learn how to add JavaScript to a web page Introduction to basic programming principles What JavaScript libraries are and why they're useful Making web forms more functional Working with images and JavaScript How to add dynamic user interface elements to a page Using AJAX to communicate with a web server
