RECREATING THE CEREMONY WHERE LINCOLN FIRST DELIVERED THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS

PART ONE: Recreation of the "GETTYSBURG ADDRESS"

will be presented "live" at Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery in Southeast Portland. PSU Vice Provost and OLBC chairman Mike Burton will kick off the ceremonies.

ADDRESS: S.E. 21st and Morrison

TIME: 9:00 am -11:30am

Union soldier reenactors (Sons of Union Veterans)will be in full battle gear, authentic military band will be playing Civil War Music, Lincoln presenter Steve Holgate will recite the Gettysburg Address at 10:00am, Daughters of Union veterans will lay wreaths and there will be the playing of "Taps". After the program, guided tours will be led by "Living Historians" of Lone Fir showing where the Civil War Veterans are buried.

PART TWO: THE STORY BEHIND GETTYSBURG & the "GETTYSBURG ADDRESS" at PSU

Gettysburg" video will be shown.
