Lincoln and the Policy Decision to End Slavery

Principle Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Event in Eugene*

James C. Mohr Distinguished Professor of History and Philip H. Knight Professor of Social Science in the History Department, University of Oregon will be giving a lecture under the auspices of the Oregon Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. The lecture will take place in the Knight Library browsing room at 7:00PM on Thursday, Feb 12, 2009 (which is the 200th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth).

The title of Dr Mohr's lecture is *“Abraham Lincoln and the Policy Decision to End Slavery.”* which looks at the wartime evolution of the emancipation decision and at the contested views of Lincoln’s role in reaching that decision.
